Not a drill!!!

Hey y'all!

This is a follow up to a previous post where I was freaking out about not improving the way I thought I would. That post resulted in some super helpful responses and me ultimately deciding to withdraw from the June LSAT and registering for the August one instead. I took a week long break from studying and really focused on working on my mindset. I kept reminding myself that this test does not define my worth or how smart I am; it is simply a hoop you gotta jump through. This break and mindset change literally took me from a 159 PT (157 diagnostic) to a 169 PT in the span of 2 weeks... not kidding. It has completely changed my expectations and my ultimate goal score for August (initially it was a 170). Basically, I just wanted to post this to say don't give up, don't let this test get you down, and remember to take breaks! When I was taking this PT, I was literally saying positive affirmations out loud to myself, and that honestly helped lol. WE GOT THIS!!

Should I take the LSAT as planned?

Hi everybody! I started super dedicated LSAT prep/studying at the beginning of April, am registered to take the June LSAT, and am also planning to take the August LSAT (applying for the 2026-2027 cycle). My diagnostic score was a 157, and my goal is a 170 or above. During my first month of prep, I pretty much only used the LSAT prep bibles (occasionally did LSAC drilling sets) and was feeling super confident by the end. But I recently switched over to 7sage and have been doing drill sets and full sections. On many of the full sections, my projected score is only one or two points higher than my diagnostic, while I do a lot better on the drilling sets. I am feeling pretty discouraged and am considering withdrawing from the June test.

Do we think this is just a part of the process, and I should just continue ahead as planned? Or do you guys think, at this rate, I won't be anywhere near my goal for June and should not risk having to cancel? Has anyone been in a similar situation? If so, what did you do?

For context, I am taking a gap year to apply and work, but if my score is not at my goal, I am open to taking another gap year to continue to study.

Thank you for any advice you can give!
