The Pitt's nurses

I think out of all the doctor shows I've watched, the Pitt is the one that made use of their nurses. It just seem so realistic. My hospital experience as a patient, I always interact more with the nurses. I think it helps that Dana is kind of the female main lead of the show, so the writers have to write her side of the story...to explain why she is the way she is.

S2 showcased more of the nurses. We got them cleaning a dead body, making sure the patients are comfortable, harassed by patients, making sure the homeless patient took a bath, got a new nurse and even a nurse teaching the med student. And Donnie also became a nurse practitioner so we saw more of him assisting the doctors in triage. Also we saw how a nurse react to a newly minted doctor issuing orders. They are too busy to entertain a hunch by a newbie so Jessie made him go back to his attending to be extra sure.

Of course if the Pitt would include more nurses in the story, I think it would affect the resident doctors screentime. I have notice in some shows the doctors do everything and interact more with the patient, so if they take that away and give more to the nurses, it would cut to their screentime.

My fave patients in s2

Out of all the patients in s2, my faves were Dr. Al and Becca.

Dr. Al because it kind of sad how her chronic illness just pops out again. Like she did everything right to control it. To make sure it would not hamper her dreams and ambition. Only to just appear and make her question her ability to work. I really like that scene of her crying after she stop her car. It looks so bitter. The knowledge that once again she have to make adjustments in order to take back control of her body.

Becca because it's nice to see a storyline about a caretaker and her patient. The dynamics is different too when it's siblings. Because the patient may feel smothered by the over protectiveness and lack of privacy and the caretaker probably will feel they are stuck as their lives revolve in their patient. And the show did it nicely too. Made a future storyline for personal growth for Mel.
