Hi, first time posting here :)

Next August I’ll be traveling to Brazil for the first time. I love jungle and wildlife, and my main goal is to capture beautiful images of jaguars with my Sony FX3 and/or my a7cII. I‘ll stay for 5 days at Pantanal, the 15 remaining days I’ll visit Iguazu, Rio and Ilha Grande.
I want to buy a lens for this trip and to be able to capture more wildlife in future trips, but I will be moving around with a backpack and a small daypack so the amount of gear I can carry is limited. I’ll carry my fx3 with my sigma 24-70 for sure, and I might even throw my trusty Sony 35 1.8, but I have to carry a tele lens and I don’t know which one would be better.

Filming the Iberian lynx in Spain on a hide I used my previous camera, a Panasonic s5 II with a 100-400 and it turned out good but I feel I was close to the subject when it showed around. Also, it was a different trip so carrying a lot of gear wasn’t a problem.

My doubt is: will a Sony 200-600 be enough? Will that be better than a fixed Sigma 500? (lighter and shorter). Maybe none of those would be enough and I need a 400-800 or a tele converter?

I would appreciate advice regarding the distance you see jaguars at Pantanal and also the lense you think would be better for the trip. actually any advice for this trip will be super welcome, regarding gear or the trip itself :)

Thanks in advance!

PS: I can link some of the lynx footage if you’re curious/if it‘s useful
