Whichever one of y’all kept saying “Louder Than Bombs” was your favorite song and that you kept hoping for it to show up in the random song of the show during the tour…

I 100% love and hate you right now.

Guess what my current ear worm is?

I’m Army, but I’ve been thinking a lot about what that means and what role Army should play in supporting the band. I’m a fan, but I’m not feeling obsessed with their every movement. I had a blast at the concert, but I don’t eat sleep and breathe BTS all the time. I listen to the music, I support the band as much as I can, and try not to let it impact every aspect of my life, because I’ve got things to do. Like right now, I’m gonna stop writing this post to take the dog outside.

I was checking out the Grammys sub this morning and I was noticing a LOT of anti-BTS posts and a lot of hate towards Army because they described the fandom as “toxic.” There is a claim there that a bunch of Army are spamming the Grammys sub with threads about Arirang getting an AOTY nod. If Army are doing that, I think that’s a bad choice because the people in the Grammys sub don’t care about BTS at all. They view BTS as a fad and they identify BTS as a boy band. They don’t categorize them as serious artists. So, talking to people over there isn’t going to going to change hearts and minds about BTS. We need to leave that work to BTS themselves.

They are artists, their voices were able to reach us. They will reach others. Give them time. People dismissed Beatlemania as being a fad. Paul McCartney is 83 years old now and the dude just finished a world tour last year 60 years is NOT a fad. The music spoke for itself and BTS’s music will do the same. So, if you feel like you have to stick up for them, take a breath let the music do it for you. BTS’s music speaks for itself too.

Personally, I think if Arirang does get an AOTY nod, it will be just because the committee wants BTS to show up and perform so that the show can get higher ratings and more sponsor dollars, because the system is anti-anything that doesn’t suit the agenda of the music industry in America and no one is taking BTS seriously enough and that’s a mistake. Do I think Arirang deserves album of the year? Yeah, I do.

So, how can we best support that? Well, listen to the album. Play it in your car. Have some random dude drive up beside you at a stop light and ask you who you’re listening to. Play it in your back yard while you’re weeding the flower beds. Listen to it as much as you want. Listen to everything you want. Fill your SOUL with music. Let it make your life a better place to live in. THAT is how music reaches you and how it will reach others through you.

So what do you think is the best way to be Army? What does it mean to you? How do you support BTS? Share your thoughts with the class!

He’s back from his hiatus? I’m sitting here digging through Apple Music to listen to what I missed and there’s a lot of piano heavy music (which is beautiful, but a departure from what he was doing before the hiatus.)

Has he fully recovered from his Dysphonia? He sounds good, not as strong and powerful as before, but still good?

Will he be doing any rock music again, or is he focusing on piano and orchestral?

Tell me everything!! I missed him so much!
