Achieving passing grades in the courses funded by OSAP and making satisfactory progress in your program of study are fundamental requirements for maintaining your OSAP eligibility. Based on a review of your grades for the Fall 2025 semester, I am writing to inform you that you are at risk of being placed on OSAP academic restriction. Please note that this letter serves as a warning, and no changes have been made to your OSAP file at this time.
What is OSAP Academic Probation?
OSAP academic probation is a status assigned to students who do not meet the minimum academic requirements set by the Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP). To remain eligible for OSAP funding, students must successfully complete at least 60% of a full course load during each term in which they receive OSAP funding. For students with a permanent disability, the requirement is reduced to 40% of a full course load. Failure to meet these requirements can result in academic probation, which may impact your eligibility for future OSAP funding.
Next Steps
At this time, no action is required from you. However, please be aware that another review of your academic performance will be conducted at the end of the full 2025-2026 academic year. If you are still not meeting the OSAP requirements by then, an academic probation status will be placed on your OSAP file.
