We live in the middle of the woods and are completely surrounded by trees that are not maintained in any way. We rent but the landlord is very hands-off. These are pictures of a couple of the trees I’m worried about uphill from us, behind our house. There have been plenty of tree branches falling everywhere along with a massive branch about 50 feet away, that happened to crush a fence I put up. It is so big and so heavy we haven’t bothered moving it. One small tree has fallen directly on this house, before we moved into it, that broke through our roof and a few feet into a large closet. I feel like some of the trees look sick, and have termite damage, and some are possibly dead, and are around 4 stories tall on average. We can’t afford to move out, but would it be unreasonable for me to insist that we stay somewhere else during storms? There is a storm coming this evening with winds between 40-50 mph, and I feel like we should maybe stay somewhere else. I can be overly anxious about things like this and I’m having a hard time gauging the actual threat level here - I very well may be overreacting. Of course there is no 100% safe action in life, but is this unreasonably dangerous?
