Hey everyone. We had a lot of turnout from our last post in the sub, so I wanted to make another post to invite the community out to our next session which is this weekend - Saturday May 9th from Noon - 3PM at the Main Library on Goodwood. We'll be in meeting room 2A on the second floor.
This meetup is for Louisiana's first chapter of TOOOL - The Open Organisation of Lockpickers. Meetings are and always will be free and open to the public. We welcome all skill levels and all ages. We also provide all the tools and locks needed for you to learn the hobby or just dip your toes in if youre curious. What I will say for sure, is that regardless of your age or skill level, we will get you opening at least one lock by the time you leave.
We only have 3 rules. Dont pick locks that your dont own. Dont pick locks that are being used. Dont be a jerk.
The goal of our group is to raise security awareness through understanding - and to engage in the fun of "sport-picking." We dont teach people how to break into things - so if thats your thing, we are not the group for you.
If youve ever seen videos of the LockPickingLawyer, we do that basically. Its a lot of fun and its interesting as well.
I also realize that this weekend is Mothers Day weekend, so if youre unable to attend this meeting but would like to be informed about future meetings (typically the 2nd Saturday of each month) feel free to send me a DM with your email and Ill add you to our mailing list.
If you have any questions, feel free to leave a comment and Ill do my best to answer! Hope to see you there!
