We are staying 1 quick night in a hotel in the Pearl District with a rental car On Memorial Day Saturday to Sunday. I want the hotel that has the kid friendly pool (bringing kid), but don't want to pay $50 for valet.

How do we feel about parking on the street overnight in the area of 9th/Everett? Any pointers? Any lots to consider near by? I come from St. Louis - I know about higher crime and break-ins. I am not naïve.
