Hi everyone, I’m seeking some clarity on my ILR timeline and salary requirements following a job change and the recent April 2026 rule changes.
My Timeline:
- First Skilled Worker Visa: July 2021 (Architectural Assistant Part 1, Salary £25k).
- Visa Extension: August 2024 (Salary £29k).
- Current Status: Resigned Feb 2026 due to health; moved back to India.
- Visa Curtailment: Home Office emailed March 26, 2026; visa until May 25, 2026.
- New Job Offer: Close to securing a Part 2 equivalent role (£30k–£35k salary).
The Dilemma: I was originally on track for ILR in June 2026 (the 5-year mark). However, I’m confused about:
Salary Threshold: Since I was on the route before April 4, 2024, do I still benefit from the "Transitional Arrangements" (Table 2) salary rates (~£31,300) even though my previous visa was curtailed and I’m applying for a new CoS from abroad? Or do I now need to hit the new standard £41,700 threshold?
Would love to hear from anyone who has navigated a "change of employment" from outside the UK under the new 2025/26 framework. Thanks!
