My team is doing a lot of data center work. Like it’s all we’ve been doing for the last few years it seems, either directly or in support of a data center. On top of that there is pressure from the top down to use AI as much as possible. I remember Leslie saying in maybe the fall financial update or in one of her connect videos that they have visibility of and are tracking who is and who isn’t using AI.

My issue is I am conflicted about data centers and AI. Their drain on resources, the sheer number of them going up, the jobs AI is going to or may replace. Aren’t we supposed to be building a better world for future generations? Is this it? Do we as a company just take on whatever job is being offered no matter its suspected or proven negative impact on surrounding communities or even people in general?

My cousin is an artist and was a designer at Disney. He was just one of the 1000 that was let go. AI is replacing his design team, and this is just one example. AI is the new offshoring. How is this beneficial for people?
