1 month

It’s only been a month, but it’s the longest I’ve ever been off nicotine since I smoked my first cigarette when I was 17. I quit smoking 12 years ago but have been addicted to nicotine (i.e., gum, pouches) since.

I have ADHD and take a stimulant medication daily. Nicotine has been a supplemental stimulant for me for half of my life now, so it’s been difficult to kick to say the least. I have zero intention of ever touching it again.

Someone mentioned the book “Nicotine Explained” by William Porter in this sub. That book was and has been incredibly helpful in the quitting process. Thank you to whoever suggested it!

Everyone’s quitting journey is different. Don’t compare yourself to others. Do what you need to do for you. Don’t give up - you can and will do it.
