Hello, my partner and I are looking to purchase our first home in Melbourne’s south-eastern suburbs and are exploring all possible options, including buying an older property with land.

A lot of these properties seem to require substantial renovations to make them comfortably liveable, so we’d love to hear from people who have taken on similar projects. How manageable was the process, and roughly what did it cost?

We’re particularly trying to get a general idea of costs for:
- a new kitchen
- 2 bathrooms
- painting throughout
- new carpeting/flooring for a 3-bedroom house

Any advice, experiences, or rough price ranges would be greatly appreciated!
