Necromancy Animate Homebrew

Hi :)

Im about to start a campaign and one of my players wants to play as a wizard. Necromancer. But because of roleplay reasons and their power Fantasy, I need to Homebrew necromancer balancing and mechanics. The idea was instead of resurrecting corpses and pile of bones to skeletons and zombies (or ghouls at higher levels), they would instead just resurrect the creature as it originally was before it died.

Resurrecting the corpse of a spider wouldn't give you Zombie, but Spider, just as it existed before it died.

Ist this completely broken and a balancing nightmare? Or is it actually a viable way of playing?

I'd love to make this concept work in any way possible, so if any of you have experienced this style of Homebrew necromancer playstyle, I'd love to hear your thoughts :)

I thought it might be balanced if I just copy the stat blocks of the creature, because the Levels stay the same (and I forbid them from commanding any creature higher in level than their own). So it wouldnt be as broken, if for example, on level 3, the best they could do would be a giant spider.

Also about Balancing it a bit more, by making it so that if the creatures Maximum HP (All the some of the creatures maximum HPs if she's commanding multiple), exceeds her maximum HP, she gets overwhelmed with commanding the creature and has to use her action and bonus action to command it. Meaning that if she wants to command something that's way stronger than herself, she can't simultaneously cast and fight.

What are your thoughts? :)

Could this be balanced in any way?
