[Thank you] Week of May 4th- May 9th card haul

I hope all you moms on this sub had a nice day today. My husband decided to take our son out for a bit while I stayed home and relaxed for a few hours. he came home a few hours later with a gift card to our favorite plant nursery and said they had a ton of tomato seedlings. He grows tomatoes every year so this was a good time to get them. the garden needed some new flowers so off we went to the nursery. I ended up getting a butterfly bush and a few other flowers, so hopefully the garden will look colorful. I did set up the hummingbird feeder, so I'm hoping the hummingbirds will show up. I have been hearing them fly around lately.

Any way time for me to thank a bunch of you, I got more cards than I expected this week. I might need to take a small break to work on my storage situation.

Hope everyone had a nice weekend. I finally got around to working on some weeding where the garden needed it so that was helpful. But we are expecting snow on Tuesday so no new plants yet for me. We had some nice rain this week too which helped a lot.

I didn't get many postcards this week, which is probably a good thing, I'm starting to realize I don't have much storage space and need to really think about what cards I really want from people. But I love a good full mailbox, so it's really a conundrum. Any way time to thank four of you.

Update: I have two cards for shrine of the sun left if anyone wants to claim them!

Hello everyone. About a month ago, I went to a museum that had some history from the early 1900s in my town. It mainly focused on a local philanthropist named Spencer Penrose. He created a luxury hotel that still stands to this day. During the time that he was running the hotel, someone gifted him a bear that he ended up keeping in a pen just a few feet away from the golf course. But over the years more people started gifting him animals and he really felt they needed a better place to stay. So in 1926, he created the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo which is turning 100 this year. In 1938, a year before he passed, he incorporated the zoo as a non profit public trust and is one of the few zoos in the country that operates on zero tax support. The zoo currently has a large herd of giraffe that you can feed, and since 1957, they have had over 200 giraffes born there. There are also elephants, wallabies, a moose, hippos and great apes. It is open 365 days a year rain or shine and yes I have driven and visited in the snow.

I was lucky enough in 2006 to work for their guest services department and sell admissions to people for a good ten years and I do have stories about the history and some interesting stories from my time working there. I will say though, the history is more interesting.

Any way, while at the museum, they were giving out a few postcards for free, I didn't grab too many, but if this is popular I can always make another trip to grab a few, I'm friends with one of the curators. LOL.

Here are the cards

I have a limited amount of cards
5 shrine of the sun cards - I have the last two if anyone wants to claim these
3 zoo entrance cards
2 giraffe cards
2 Elephant Cards
2 Penrose and camel cards
So 14 cards altogether.

If you'd like one here are the rules.

  1. Please be Flaired and Active (this means you have sent cards or at least posted a thank you for the cards ) in this sub
  2. Comment below with an animal emoji and which two cards you like the most. (I cannot guarantee you will get a specific card that you want, but I will try my best. )
  3. and tell me about your favorite zoo experience or a zoo that you would love to visit one day.

If I get more than 14 replies I will pick the best responses to send them out to. When I do mark the cards as fulfilled I will message you for your address.

Sorry for the length of this post, I hope you're still with me so I can send some neat cards.
