Ive been taking wheel classes on and off for years and just purchased a whisper lite for my spare bedroom. I got some low fire clay off amazon (old potters low fire) and It will not stick to my plastic speedball bats, and doesn’t really stick to my wheel head. I’ve thrown when the clay is more buttery and when the clay is firm and it either slides right off my wheel. When I score the bottom or create a suction - I notice there’s tons of air bubbles even after wedging. I have a hard time centering the bottom of the clay as well. The clay creates tons of slip but also when pulling walls can have dry spots. I’m still a very beginner but I understand the fundamentals of throwing - I’m sure I can work on technique but do I need to switch clays? Any good beginner tips? I’ve been watching Florian videos on repeat lol
