I'm 33, Ive had a wild ride in life, from ages 18-26 I worked anywhere I could get in. From gas stations, to factories, to long stretches of unemployment, and even spent a few years job hopping. At this time, I've probably worked at 60 different jobs, and I'm not joking.

From 26 onward (last 8 years) I've decided having a family and providing was important to me, and got into IT. I've went from Internet installer, to Help Desk, to Solution Developer, to Business Systems Technician for 9 facilities spread across the state.

My next goal is IT Manager. I've been salary for the past 5 years, but I've never applied to be a member of management, I know they expect professionalism. How would I organize my resume?

Do I make a sloppy 5+ job resume showing my last 8 years of IT growth and all my major projects? I do I only list my last 3 years of employment?

Any tips?

Right now I make 80k a year in rural Indiana where rent for a 4 bedroom ranch is $800 a month. I'm trying to buy my family a $300,000 lake House in a zero crime community and need about $9000 a month to cover the $2400 mortgage comfortably. Wife and a kid on the way have turned this from "I like doing IT" to "I must reach the top".
