After ESI numbness?

I got a tranforaminal block ESI at my L5 today. I was given light anesthesia iv and local pain meds ( lidocaine and marcaine). The injection happened around 3 and I got home around 5. I noticed after the injection on the way home, that my crotch and butt are completely numb. When I got home I tried to pee and it was difficult. I had a little pain and a lot of pressure. Also had a difficult time starting and stopping.

I tried to get ahold of my doctor through their emergency line but it is basically just an answering/ note service. I called 2 hours ago and still haven’t heard back. I don’t want to rush to the ER if this is normal but also don’t want this to get worse if it’s not.

Please help.

Severe DDD

I have severe DDD in my L5-S1 disc. Total collapse with modic 1 changes on both endplates. I’m 36 yr old

I fell down the stairs at work while holding a large heavy table. I landed on my tailbone/ butt with the table’s weight on my pelvis. I also sprained my right ankle pretty badly. It has been 3 years since that accident.

Pain has gotten progressively worse. I always have a dull/ ache in my lower back. This gets worse at night and start to get sharp. I’ll have random sharp pain and some time tingling or numbness in both glutes, thighs, legs, feet, and toes.

I have had an mri and emg. The mri is almost 2 years old now. Emg says there are 5 nerves from my L5 that are affected. Done a ton of PT and have medication.

Next appt is to do a TFESI, bilateral at my L5. The doctor is injecting lidocaine and Kenalog ( particulate steroid) with guided with dye and x-ray.

Because it is a work injury I am limited to doing the injection with this one doctor that I am not really comfortable with. I also had to look up the risks and even with knowing they are rare, I am pretty scared of them. I also know that this would be to help with the pain temporarily and not fix the disc. I am not sure if I want to go ahead with the injection or not. Any advice is welcomed.

Started Loryna

I started Loryna at a low dose for my PCOS. It has only been a couple of days and I am already having pretty bad anxiety. If it increases I might have a panic attack. I have a trip to Hawaii coming up and I can’t stop ruminating about if the airplane goes down, who / where will my cats go / will the pair of them be split up. It to the point that I want to look up the stats on down planes traveling to and from Hawaii but also worried I may jinx it. I know all this is completely illogical but I can’t get it out of my head.

I also take buspar which normally helps neutralize my anxiety but I feel like the birth control cancels out any effects it has.

This sucks.
