I've seen quite a few reasons/excuses Hacker lost against TDL besides their power and skill difference, I plan to debunk these claims using logic.
“Hacker was tired because he just fought Alan and built the machine.”
At first this might make sense, but we know whenever he has used too much of his powers, they go offline until he isn’t tired anymore, and his powers being active during the fight show he was not. Even if you think this is not the case, there are no parts of the fight when Hacker seemed fatigued except at the very end when he lost his powers because of TDL, not something that happened before the fight.
“Hacker didn’t know the full extent of his own powers”
I honestly think since he got his powers, he had full knowledge of them all. We never see victim trying to use a power he doesn’t have to be surprised he does not have it, do these people think he just happened to guess he could select, generate objects, and clone?
“Hacker could have taken away all of TDL’s powers”
In order to do this, TDL would need to be passive and let Hacker disable him, which would never happen. Hacker was able to disable his fireball while TDL was charging an attack, but he did not have enough time to highlight his full set.
“Hacker didn’t use his powers optimally”
Your skill in using your powers is just one of the traits you need to be a good combatant, if you get beat because of it, you lost fair and square.
“Hacker was angry which made his fighting worse”
I chose to put this one last because it is in my opinion the most reasonable. My only two arguments is that 1, Just as in tiredness, there is minimal evidence where we see his rage affecting him mid fight. And 2, If Hacker was at such a disadvantage that he couldn’t win he shouldn’t have picked the fight in the first place, though it is understandable that he did.
I hope we can all put our bias aside in the comments.

This is in response to comprehensive's post of surrender on our behalf, we DO NOT AGREE. We have taken on the task of glazing TDL and that we shall do! Hacker did him dirty with this one (Kinda makes since though bc he killed more with fireball), hope he is able to get it reactivated bc the animation and sound effects of the fireball are so peak. before I go, TDL SOLOS (hope the title was vague enough not to spoil anything)
We are just people who really like the series and enjoy having someone to root for. Ofc choosing TDL as that person is a pretty easy decision. Just thought some of y’all could benefit from this insight. Without further ado, TDL solos.
