Wellue O2 Ring

Wellue O2 Ring

I’ve done two sleep studies and have been diagnosed with mild sleep apnea. One showed my lowest O2 at 90% and the other showed 8&%.

I decided to buy a Wellue O2 Ring to track my oxygen levels while I work with my insurance to make a plan for treatment. It’s been a slow moving process.

The ring is consistently showing 88% or lower. My understanding is that these numbers are pretty bad. But I’m questioning how accurate they are. The ring does have a snug fit, but I do toss and turn a lot which I’ve heard can affect the reading.

I’ve read that these are supposed to be pretty accurate, with a +/- of 2%. But even if that 84% is really 86%, that’s apparently dangerously low and should require immediate medical attention.

Does anyone else have experience with these rings and have they been accurate for you? Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Oral Device Advice

I was recently diagnosed with mild sleep apnea through two sleep studies. The sleep doctor said it needs to be treated, and I can go with either an oral device, CPAP, or surgery. I chose the oral device since I’m already used to sleeping with a night guard and CPAP is a little intimidating. He said that was a good choice.

My dentist has the ability to scan my mouth and order the oral device, but they seem to know very little about apnea. Since they don’t accept my health insurance (they only take my dental insurance), it’s going to be pretty expensive out of pocket.

I read somewhere that it’s a good idea to go through a dentist that is AADSM certified when getting an apnea oral device, which my dentist is not. I’m wondering if it’s worth the trouble of finding an AADSM certified dentist for this, or if I should go just through my current dentist for convenience?

I learned from the WatchPAT study that my apnea is much worse when I sleep on my back, which unfortunately is most of the time. So while I wait for the device be sorted out, I’m trying to learn to sleep on my side. It does seem to help a little.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.
