For context of the below, I live in USA, Washington DC-Baltimore Area;
I'm currently looking to switch from my current gig-work to becoming an administrative assistant and hopefully after a year looking for an institutional/library/legal/healthcare admin mid-level role.
I'm terrified though of how AI is being portrayed to consume a lot of the entry level work. I know that I should technically be grateful that I am getting my foot in the door now, but in the back of my head I keep asking myself "What if this career change doesn't go well and I am back to entry level searching?" along with "What if it catches up faster than expected and I don't have time to adapt or get skilled enough to not be replaced?"
For those who are in similar boats to me and/or have started an entry level role that seemed to be sinking, do you have any tips or reassurances? I don't mean to be dramatic but it does feel like the end of the world sometimes for me.
Thanks for reading.
