Update: False positive for T18

Hey all,

I posted a few weeks back that I had taken a NIPT which had come back detecting T18.

Before that, I went for my nucal scan and they apparently found that baby's foot was turned inward which could be a sign of Edwards syndrome.

Went to MFM last week and scan showed everything perfectly normal. Also did the Amnio to be sure which early results came back as negative for all markers for T18. Still waiting on the full result but we are pretty confident at this stage.

I cannot express enough how relieved we are but also if you're going through this and sitting in the waiting period, know that in that time, you will most likely come to terms with whichever result it may be. You will go through the stages of grief, and it will be the hardest part of everything. It got to a stage where if baby did have it, I just wanted to get it over and done with. Don't get me wrong, I am in love with this baby but the waiting period is the worst.

Know that you are not alone, there is nothing you did wrong and nothing you could have done differently.

Have hope, be realistic, but don't lose hope. Where there's a will, there's a way. God can make anything happen.

I pray everyone that gets this result (and the others) get a false positive.
