Favorite alternate health displays.

What are your favorite (or least favorite) alternate ways of displaying health in games? Anything that isn't some kind of meter or numbers (but it's okay if the game uses both)

Two that pop into my head are Cool Spot, with the character slowly peeling off the display, or Aladdin on Genesis, with the smoke coming out of the lamp.

I really hate how much I enjoy these games

I've been bouncing between various games lately (I own all of them from 13-2k24 except for 20) and really, I hate that I like most of them.

Specifically 2k19 and 2k24. They are different, but both enjoyable, so it comes down to polish/rosters. Wish I could mash the games together a little.

The game runs well, but seems really unbalanced?

Trying the game out via NSO, and im liking it, but this stat line on the 2nd hardest difficulty is kinda ridiculous. I'd say the game played well, but then the defense would just forget how to play every now and then. Actually felt like NBA Jam keep it close rubber banding. Also... no fouls or cards or anything.

Is this a settings thing or what?

Games that would be a lot better with one small change.

What are some examples of games that could be greatly improved with just one small change or tweak.

Two examples I can think of are Blaster Master - not losing your gun power ups when you get hit. And Zelda 2 - ditch the lives system.
