Simponi side effects
Hey everyone! Has anyone experienced side effects while on simponi? And what exactly are you experiencing?
I've been on it for about 6yrs now, and have been experiencing extreme weakness and pain in my legs - and extreme weakness in my arms. The symptoms in my legs have been getting progressively worse over the years. My imaging doesn't appear to show anything mechanically wrong, so my physio has suggested it's some kind of nerve issue, which fits with my symptoms.
I've hit a wall as far as medical investigation goes. I've been waiting for 2 yrs to see a physiatrist so I can hopefully get a definitive diagnosis, and hope I can recover.
What concerns me is that my new Rheum told me on our first visit about 4 yrs ago that he was surprised my old Rheum recommended Simponi since I have a history of MS in my family.
He told me simponi has a history of causing MS. So very recently I went back and took another look at the side effects, and right there in writing, it states "can cause leg and arm weakness and other neurological disorders". So far my Rheum has dismissed my concerns, saying it's not his area of expertise. I made an appointment to speak with him in a couple of weeks. I'm going to strongly advocate that he takes my symptoms seriously and actually investigate it for me. Hopefully changing biologics will help 🤷
