Sanded off my first try after reading all the help and suggestions I received yesterday. So thank you guys!

Repainted the bases, and conducted an experiment.

Left two bases got covered with ‘Ardcoat

Right two bases got covered with PVA Glue

Top two bases got covered completely by Ardent Earth “Schmear it on like cream cheese on a bagel”

Bottom two bases got covered in select space around the lava.

I have a clear favorite, do you?

Was happy with my first attempt at a lava base and was excited to see the end result the next day, but now i am more than disappointed. Did I put too much? Not enough?
