Hey everyone, I could really use some honest advice here.
I recently got an offer from Goldman Sachs in the U.S., and I’m super excited but also pretty stressed. Before moving to the U.S., I was living in India, and I had about a 6-month gap where I wasn’t working because I was getting married.
The issue is, I didn’t include that gap on my resume and instead extended my previous job’s dates to cover it. At the time, it didn’t feel like a big deal, but now I’m worried it might come up during background checks.
Has anyone been in a similar situation? How strict are background checks at firms like this when it comes to employment dates? Am I overthinking this, or should I be concerned?
Would really appreciate any guidance or experiences.
