Yesterday this forum was a huge help with advice on purchasing my first bass. Scored a nice mim 2005 jazz bass for $300. It was badly in need of a set up, new strings and cleaning which I’m working on.

Next question. Amps. Looking used on marketplace and there seems to be a lot out there. Sort of narrowed down to two contenders based on positive reviews and price point.

Newer fender rumbler 40 for $100 usd

Older ampeg 115 (looks like the version with controls on top back) for $150

I like that the ampeg has more versatility and can be used in larger venues but wouldn’t be too much for home practice?
