My story. What are the next steps?
My story began in September 2025. One beautiful morning, I discovered a growth in my groin area. I immediately went to the doctor. I was sent for an MRI with contrast. Then a biopsy was taken, which showed malignant cells. The tumor was 1.7 cm at its largest point. The surgeon suggested removal, but I foolishly agreed. The doctor turned out to be incompetent in these matters and didn't remove the entire tumor. After the operation, under local anesthesia, swelling was visible.
Then came the disheartening results – epithelioid sarcoma, proximal type.
I went to a specialized center. They reviewed the slides and the diagnosis was confirmed. They scheduled an operation, which was performed at the end of December 2025. The results showed clear margins, and lymph nodes were also taken. They were also clear. The doctors decided to discharge me and monitor me dynamically.
In March 2026, I felt a small lump in the area of the scar. I immediately went to the oncologist. After examinations, an operation was scheduled, which took place on April 17, 2026. The tumor was removed with clear margins, but one of the two lymph nodes was affected by metastases.
Now I'm waiting for the incision to heal, and the plan is to have an ultrasound of the scar, then a consultation to decide on the next course of action.
I am very upset and hope they will prescribe radiation therapy to eliminate the possibility of recurrence. But I am also upset that the disease progressed and affected the lymph node. How can I now understand if there are other affected nodes? Perhaps they need to be removed, and then radiation therapy performed?
Many questions and anxieties.🩷
I'm looking for others who have been diagnosed with this. Would anyone be willing to share their treatment experience?🙏🙏🙏
