[CST] Dissertation Survey Recruitment: Flames Or A Bonfire? - The Buffering Effects of Social Support Against Online Racism in Videogames
Hello! I am a doctoral student in a Psychology PhD program. I am conducting a research study titled, “Flames Or A Bonfire? - The Buffering Effects of Social Support Against Online Racism in Videogames.” https://luc.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_cC8ejt3f3K2h91s
We are requesting participation from adults who play online video games — especially multiplayer or community-based games — to share their experiences of online interactions, including any experiences of racism and the types of peer support they receive in gaming spaces.
This study aims to better understand how online gaming communities can support the wellbeing of players of color. You are eligible to participate in this study if you meet the following criteria:
• You are 18 years of age or older
• You currently play online video games (e.g., League of Legends, Call of Duty, Apex Legends, Fortnite, FFXIV, Valorant, etc.)
• You play online at least once per week
• You are located in the United States
• You identify as a person of color.
As a thank you, participants will have the option of entering a raffle to win one of five $20
digital gift cards that can be spent at most online outlets (e.g. Amazon, Target). To
enter, participants will provide a separate email address that will not be connected to their
survey responses.
