12 week old Kitten Question
I’ve been fostering two kittens since they were 1 day old. I bottle fed them until 6.5 weeks, and now at 12 weeks they’re eating dry food like champs. The thing I’m noticing: they love to groom and suckle my hands, face, and ears, especially when I’m sleeping. They purr loudly the whole time. It’s sweet and I’m guessing it’s partly self-soothing, but I’m curious whether there’s more to it.
They came into the shelter without a mom, so I’ve been their sole caregiver from day one. I weaned them off the bottle within the standard timeframe.
Is this behavior typical for bottle babies?
Do they usually grow out of it, or is there anything I should be doing (or not doing) to help them feel secure?
