Spilled iced coffee on my laptop!

Spilled close to 100ml of iced coffee on the laptop surface (GA403).

Was spilled mostly on the trackpad and the neighboring palm rest area. I had wiped and soaked the majority of it, perhaps not more than 10ml went through the keyboard from the spacebar, I mean it got stuck.

I also panicked and starting cleaning the mess cause I had books all around me and didnt turn the laptop off. It was also on charge. It's been on since and nothing concerning. But it has come to my notice that the trackpad although is responsive, but has gone a little mushy.

My concern is how urgently should I be opening my laptop to firstly check for damage and also clean if there's still anything left? I dont think any liquid would have gone to the motherboard, but im guessing there might be some sitting on top of the battery, perhaps it's started to dry up maybe.

Coming back to the point, I have a paper tomorrow and as it is opening the laptop would definitely take me a good 2 hours cause I'll also have to find a screwdriver set. So I was thinking in maybe 14 hours after my paper?

HI all!

I'll cut right to the chase, I'm a second year Aerospace student from a tier 3 college. And was just looking at opportunities for the summer.

I had applied to several core engg firms for me to spend my 2 months at but it was really difficult to secure one as I feel that most of these opportunities are made for third year students, so there are a lot of domains where I lack such as CFD and a bit of FEA. Albeit, I do have one and they are also paying me (peanuts and butter).

But I also plan to pursue masters soon after my bachelors and all the people who I've talked to in academia have said that a research internship will be much more helpful to you in all aspects. All that said, I'm also confident that I'll be able to join as a research intern to either Dr. Mrinal Kaushik, Rajaram Lakkaraju or Chetan Sureshbhai Mistry.

Although a research internship is definitely very exciting for me but also a little overwhelming at the same time. I just wanted to ask, first of all what is expected from a research intern who happens to have just completed their 2nd year and wants to go all in on core engg. And second of all, any comments on the above mentioned professors?
