This is fantastic. I love everything about this release from the embossing on the slip, gloss finish, debossed title & art choices. I think the classic poster artwork on the steel is perfect for this movie. I was undecided between this one & the Manta release. Now i have it in-hand I am very happy with my choice.
Finally got my 30 Days steel this morning & when I got home from work I put in the 4k & it won't play. Tried cleaning it, no dice. It says "disc may not be finalized". Anyone else have issue playing the 4k? Bluray plays fine but the 4k just won't play.
I was pleasantly surprised it was damaged as Amazon shipped it in an envelope through the USPS. Looking forward to a re-watch.
An all-time classic that looks much better in-hand. Matte finish w/spot metallic on the sky that really pops & debossed title. I knew I wanted this is soon as I saw it available as I am a huge western fan as well as a fan of John Wayne & John Ford. Seeing it in-hand i am very happy I pulled the trigger.
Very happy this got a reprint. I bought the Groovy Collection before I began really collecting steels & it has 4k's of Evil Dead I & II, so I never grabbed steels for those. I've been kicking myself for that & was very happy to get another chance at it. Now if they'd just reprint 2. 🤣
This is probably my favorite of the Criterion releases in my collection. What's yours?
I grabbed the A2 FS. Loved the Normandy beach wraparound art. That seemed to be the most popular, as it sold out first. Anyone else pick up any?
The Weet Interstellar is gorgeous. The Manta Spiderman slip & steel is fantastic. The Conversation is one of wanted for awhile & decided to grab the Den of Thieves & Knives Out steels during the Father's Day sale. Speed Racer was a blind buy & I loved it. Glad I went with the collector's edition. Finally, a couple Amazon pre-orders arrived, as well. First come first serve on the digital code.
Black & White looks so good in 4k & Mocking Bird is an all-timeclassic. Looking forward to Eraser in 4k & Cloud Atlas is a blind buy on recommendations.
Been hunting this one for a couple months & finally found a sealed copy at a price I was willing to pay. And it is better than expected in-hand. I love everything about this release. From the slip design to the replica folder that holds the booklet & poster to the excellent steel. It has some sweet embossing on the front & some clever debossing on the back. Just really well done for a very good movie. Very happy to complete the Mark Ruffalo true story trilogy of Spotlight, Foxcatcher & Dark Waters. All 3 are great releases for outstanding movies.
Decided to grab the whole trilogy when Fire & Ash released. Was happy to be able to still find the first 2 @ retail.
Was very happy to catch the Pop Market restock for this a few weeks ago. I finally got around to watching it today & the Atmos track is fantastic. From the opening scene of her practicing with the tomahawk it is just an excellent surround design.
Love the embossing on The Northman. The spot gloss on Fight Club pops. I like it. I added Alligator, which has a cool scale look to the steel & The DaVinci Code 4k this week as well.
Recent Amazon sales pickups. Love the Scarface release. It's very nice. Didn't release Hush was a 4 disc release with 4k versions of the Theatrical & "Shush" cuts. I really enjoyed the Shush cut.
Has anyone received any shipping notifications from Astro Creations? They were supposed to have started shipping the S&S edition, which is the one I ordered, on 4/20 & I haven't received any shipping notifications yet. Was just curious if anyone else has received a notification of shipping. Thanks
