Me and my girlfriend are looking at travelling up to Port Douglas around June/July this year (we are from Melbourne). I was planning on surprising her by asking her to marry me.

So I'm after advice and recommendations on where to do this in the Port Douglas area as I have never been there myself and it could be hard to scope out spots (only can look up online, but that is limited) whilst there.

Is there any spots to consider? Places that you would highly recommend?

The idea at sunset with a nice view is appealing - I've seen Rex Smeal Park is probably the better option for sunset.
