I need to open a case for a "quiet title"
I don't know how to open a case! location: South Bend, Indiana.
At this point as I've been trying to make progress on this for months, so I may be missing something obvious just because I'm a little overwhelmed. Basically, I'm trying to get a title for a car I bought (the previous owner passed away and the seller didn't have the title in their name, so the car is kinda in limbo and I can't register it until I get the title). When I bought it, I was told I would need to go to the courthouse for a court order. Got to the courthouse, and they told me getting the court order "is not as easy as they make it sound" lol. The staff was very helpful and told me that I need to go online and open a case, print some forms, and then come back to the courthouse... but I just can't seem to find a website where I'm supposed to open a case. Some sources online say go to the courthouse to open the case, but when I went to the courthouse, they told me to do it online and then come back to the courthouse afterwards.
Can anybody please point me in the right direction to open a case (in South Bend, Indiana)? Thank you in advance!
PS I'll probably call the court tomorrow if I'm still lost, but they're closed for the day at this point /:
