Waitlisted for TMU, never got off

So I’m re applying this cycle, and I know that to even get a waitlist for a school that only accepts 94 people is a big deal, but it clearly wasn’t good enough as I didn’t get off. I’m wondering if geographical location had a significance in them choosing their cohort?

I did see people with much lower gpa’s than me get off the waitlist (3.7x and even 3.5x) and i understand that having mature experiences can make a difference in an application. So if you were one of those people with a lower gpa, can I ask what sorts of experiences you had that made you stand out? I am starting a masters degree and TMU seems to value that so hopefully it will help this year. I also am not from Mississauga but live on the east border (so non peel regional) and have family business in the city that I’ve worked for for years and so much significant research experience that is directly in Brampton.

I just feel sad because I really did prep for this interview a lot, my weakest station was probably MM1. I’m just looking for advice on what sorts of experiences people had that they got in with lower gpas, or because the bias for Mississauga/brampton residents was very strong. I live less than 30 minutes from the school and would love to practice and stay in peel. Just that I grew up in the city right beside sauga :(

do you ever see a psych/soc term and just accept that you will NOT get that point if it shows up on your test

My brain can’t possibly fit anymore of this and I’m only halfway through Pankow. Does it get any better after 7C

uclagary masters degree and undergrad gpa

If I am starting a masters, and don't have any grades from it until next year when I graduate, will u Calgary only look at my undergrad grades from my 4 year degree? and from my understanding they will drop the lowest year? The applicant manual talks a lot about substituting grad gpa for an undergrad year but its confusing for those of us who don't have a masters degree conferred and are applying while in a one year program.

TLDR: uclagary will drop 1 year from my completed undergrad even if I am starting a masters in the fall?

UBC English Req for Graduated Students

Hi all, I will be starting a masters in the fall and will also be applying to UBC oop but did not take English in undergrad. I was wondering if I could register for it online at Athabasca and how I would show proof to the school that im enrolled in the English credit? Could I drop it in December if I do not receive an interview? Thanks for the help!

U of T with 3.85 cGPA?

I was thinking about it, and while I know that average accepted gpa is higher, I feel like u of t interviews quite a bit of people and there has to be at least 2-3 people interviewing or getting in to such a large cohort with that gpa no? I’m talking no AEE and masters though. I am doing a course based one rn but it will not be completed by the time I apply (will be done before MD start date tho)

How do we know there’s a computer system that genuinely screens out people below a 3.89 or 3.88? I don’t want to write an AEE if I was genuinely just lazy in my first/second year and didn’t study as hard as I should’ve for some of my courses.

Thing is I do feel I’m a strong applicant for u of t (first author pub, lots of ecs with diverse roles and hours etc). I’m also a strong essay writer and I know this bc I interviewed at a Canadian med school this year that values that (was waitlisted). And I hit MCAT cutoffs. What do you guys think?
