[Free Friday] A shower of roses for Pentecost

Roses were first dropped during the Mass of Pentecost at Rome's Pantheon in 609 A.D, shortly after it was consecrated as the Church of St. Mary and All Martyrs. Although the practice fell out of use for many years, it was revived in Rome in 1995. Today, this delightful tradition can be experienced in a handful of places throughout the world.
