Where can I find beginner marketing professionals to recruit?
Hi there!
I'm the game director of a large, volunteer-based indie game project (60+ people), and I'm having some trouble staffing my marketing team.
Right now, I'm looking for people in games marketing who would be willing and interested in joining a volunteer-based project to build their resume and portfolio.
Do you guys have any advice or suggestions for where I should be looking?
Why Volunteers?
I'm well aware of how "volunteer-based" can raise some eyebrows, so please allow me the chance to get ahead of it.
We do not have any funding, and the way we've been able to make this project work is by offering professional, real-world experience to beginner developers who are just trying to break into the games industry.
This has been healthy and mutually beneficial arrangement for everyone involved, and I'm proud to say that we've had over 20 or so people use our project as a "stepping stone" to land their first paid industry role.
My hope is to find people in the marketing space who are looking for the same thing, and I haven't had any luck lately.
