I think this is at its core a really heartwarming episode. I love how it humanized Blanche, building upon her family with her Grammy and taking the wind chimes (I loved the subtle detail of the windchime making noise when she was hancuffed to what I think was the heater and Dorothy was trying to reason with her).

The subplot of Sophia trying to tell Dorothy about her experience seeing Sal while passed out pulled at my heart strings, especially when she mentioned the nickname "Spumoni face" (I'm not sure if I'm remembering it right).

It also had some funny moments too, like Sophia attempting to jump into a haystack, but landing on Rose (Charlie...Charlie is that you???). And Sophia mooning a chain gang.

So I remember we got reasons for Blanche and Rose ending up in Miami. (Blanche and her husband buying a house there, and Rose deciding to move there after Charlie died). But I don't think we ever got a reason for Dorothy and Sophia moving there.

And as for random observations I noticed for their timeline living in Miami: I assume the stroke Sophia had occurred when they moved there, because she went to Shady Pines (I doubt it happened in Brooklyn, as they only ever mention Shady Pines and not some place in Brooklyn as the precursor rest home). Also was Stan still married to Dorothy when Sophia went to Shady Pines? So did all three of them move to Miami at the same time?

I think everyone knows how great Dorothy and Sophia are with their comebacks (and believe me, they are hilarious!), but I want to hear your favorite/best Rose and Blanche roasts and comebacks. I know they have a few like the ones below, but if you have any others, comment them below!!

Rose:

"Not tonight?"

"No Dorothy, I just finished milking the cow I keep in my closet."

Blanche:

"Eat dirt and die, trash."

So I've read a lot about the lack of continuity in the Golden Girls. And there are certainly plenty to mention, but I wanted to see if there are any instances of continuity in the show.

One example for me in season 7 during the scene where Blanche gets offended at Rose for having 56 boyfriends, but she recalled Rose's first was Charlie (which I believe was mentioned back in season 1). Does anyone have any other examples?
