Not sure if I should join Revature as a recent Grad with little experience
As the title says, I got a offer from Revature as a recent Grad. My issue is that my college taught me mostly theory so I couldn't truly develop my coding skills. Even though I do know how to code in Python and C++, it is at a level where even applying for positions feels wrong when I look at their prerequisites.
So I was shocked when I got this email from them, saying that I'd work with a "major global bank", at a location roughly 45 minutes away from my home, on-site, while also getting paid learning for such position.
Only downside I see so far is the pay, with them stating that the first year I'd receive $50,000 in Year 1, $60,000 in Year 2 and $75,000 in Year 3, and the paid training period would be minimum wage. ($14/hr where I live)
Even though the initial pay seems like a slap in the face compared to what I see developers with these skills being payed, for someone that's been struggling a few months now to apply into a coding position so I can start somewhere, it really doesn't seem like a horrible option. Where they said I'd learn React, Python (already familiar with), and PostgreSQL.
My other options would be to take a paid course/bootcamp to improve my skills, spend the time building personal projects, or continue applying for entry-level positions until I find something.
So, I'd like to ask for yall's opinion on this, as I'm not sure if Revature is a good option for me. Please let me know your thoughts!
