Issues with dealership
Yesterday I went to a dealership and traveled 2+ hours to reach there (my fault). Obviously as dealer knows that I’m interested and traveled so much that he didn’t budge on price. It was a certified Santa Fe calligraphy 2024. I said okay fine I’ll buy.
Signed the paper and when I was about to go to finance, I asked them if I can see the CPO details. Sales person went and came with a blank face. She said this car is not certified . I was puzzled because entire car price and negotiation was around the point that car is certified vehicle from Hyundai.
Now that they have confirmed it is not, they started defending that it is not their mistake and it is systems fault that it was advertised this way. I requested them to cover the cost as it was advertised plus carfax states it is a certified vehicle.
Hyundai sales manager came and said it is not sales responsibility to check whether the car is certified or not. If I want to buy this car certified then I’ll have to pay another $1,000 even though deal was agreed on the certified vehicle price.
I lost my cool and declined their offer.
It is extremely frustrating when dealers are denying their fault and asking me to pay.
