[M20] Tired of the "T-shirt & Shorts" loop—how do I modernize my look for college?

I’m 20M and I’ve realized my college fashion feels pretty outdated. My daily dress code is basically just a T-shirt with shorts or plain pants. When I look around campus, most guys have a unique "vibe," while I feel like I’m stuck in a style from years ago.

I want to transition into a more modern, polished look but I have no idea where to start.

A few specifics:

  • Current Style: Very basic. Minimalist (not by choice, just lack of ideas).
  • Goal: To look more intentional and "unique" without looking like I'm trying too hard.
  • Constraint: Needs to be practical for long college days.

Questions for the sub:

  1. What are the "essentials" I should buy first to replace basic tees? (Oversized shirts, polos, flannels?)
  2. How do I upgrade my footwear beyond just basic flip-flops or old trainers?
  3. Any specific Indian brands or budget-friendly stores you recommend for a student?
  4. Are there specific "aesthetics" that are trending right now that are easy to pull off?

Would love any tips on where to start my 2.0 journey!
