Do you think it should be made mandatory for people to learn how to perform First Aid? Things like CPR, Heimlich Maneuver, using a defibrillator, stabilising broken bones etc etc? Perhaps even swimming?

I sometimes wonder how many could have been saved had the majority of the public been trained in these skills. Might even make the lives of paramedics easier if that patient has received better care before they arrive.

Thoughts?
