Has anyone worked with Alaska Dog works for a service dog or know any programs working with Alaska based clients?

Hello! I’m 27 and I’m trying to keep my independence. I’ve been diagnosed with a few psychiatric disorders (PTSD, DP/DR, Panic disorder and major depressive disorder) and I was maintaining that, until I got hit with a wave of physical problems. Now I’m diagnosed with POTS, and just been referred to a few more specialist to test for Multiple Sclerosis, Myasthenia Gravis, and neurological issues.

I’m currently working in a photography studio and I take the bus so I can keep moving, but trying to do that along with daily life skills is becoming so much more harder, and I’m starting to feel and get backed into a corner. My primary doctor and psychiatrist did talk to me about a service dog as an option to keep my independence and I’ve been reading other reviews on companies on here along with going through websites and such. I’m wishing to apply if things turn out to go more downhill with my health and if there is confirmation of the things they are testing for.

The only one in Alaska I know of, is Alaska dog works, where they train a dog they pick along side you, and I’ve talked with the trainer and she seems nice and knowledgeable. I was wondering if anyone has worked with them before? Is there any programs around the United States or Canada that work with Alaskan residents on those issues listed above?

I’m not gonna apply anytime soon unless recommended that I do now while I’m still testing (I heard it can take a few years before a dog can be placed). I’m just concerned and probably a little more anxious and freaked than I like to admit and just want to do what I can to keep whatever independence I have now.
