Swarmlord repaint

i was not happy with the old version. I remember i tried to mimic the texture lines on the carapace you see on a lot of paintjobs but both my brush tip and brush control sucked so it ended up blobbing and i gave up. i was tired of him looking so silly on the tabletop so i decided to try my hand again and im pretty happy with it,

if you guys have any tips on how to make him look even better id be happy to hear them (including basing ideas since im going to be giving him a cooler base eventually)

Help with carapace texturing

I am currently going through the process of repainting my swarmlords carapace because the first time i did it and tried to do that textured line pattern affect you see on so many paint schemes it ended up being all splotchy and ugly looking. i am looking to ask what your guys tips and tricks are for getting the right texture and how to do it

Changes for Swarmlord

So everybody knows swarmlord needs a buff but nobody really knows where hes supposed to sit combat wise. While its true the swarmlord gets dunked on chapter masters left and right proving hes not a primarch by any means, i believe he should get a primarch like ability where you pick an ability or two out of a small list that apply in an aura around the swarmlord.

Something like giving all units in synapse range advance and charge and -1 AP or something.
I also think it could be even cooler if the buff itself wasnt as strong as a primarch ability, but instead of being constrained to just an aura around the swarmlord it applies to every unit thats getting the benefits of synapse for more flavor points of the swarmlord controlling the entire army instead of the 3 guys it can shout at.

What do you guys think would be cool abilities for the swarmlord to buff him without just making him a fat beatstick. Id also like to see what you guys think would be cool primarch abilities to give the guy since ive seen some creative takes.

Hyperadapted Raveners

I got my Raveners finished in time for the Red Terrors release. At first I preferred the look of the normal raveners but decided to build them as hyperadapted and it turns out i quite like them. The color scheme of Hive Fleet Ouroboris worked quite well for them

It was actually a real slugfest and the game ended super close with some insane luck from the swarmlords rolls after he solo'd his ophydian destroyers and heavy locust destroyers who together wiped a large chunk of my battleline and almost killed my hyper adapted raveners who were my only burrowing unit for my subterranean assault army

his ctan shard of the nightbringer damn near solo'd my norn, flyrant, and psychophage but i got lucky that he targeted the norn since he was able to tank just enough to get the Ctan killed.

Subterranean assault is by far my new favorite detachment after that game though. the tunnels let me move my genestealers and swarmlord around so much that they got insane value and i was even able to capture his home objective by like turn 3.

what do you guys think of subterranean assault as a whole? im super excited for the red terror since i know hell be a huge boon to us burrowing fans
