Waking my dog up in the Morning
I work in construction and my SO works in the office 3 days a week. So during those days I take my 2 year old pitbull terrier rescue to work. It has helped tremendously in crate training and leash training. And she is getting slowly more comfortable around men.
The problem is my work commute is about 1.5 hours each way. So I wake up at 5 Am to get to work. My dog has growingly gotten very annoyed at the thought of leaving her crate. It has gotten so bad that she refuses to leaves and growls at me if I annoy her enough.
I have moved her crate out of the bedroom. I have started to turn the lights on then walk away. I have bribed her with more treats than I think she can stomach. It has gotten to the point where I’m 45 minutes late to work. And she is just in the crate all day.
She has not been trained to stay home by herself. Every time we do that she poops and pees on the house.
What is my best course of action? Let my SO take her out leave her in the crate for 8+ hours? Train her to be out of the crate alone in the house? Try a different approach with waking her up?
Any and all help is appreciated
