What would your wishes for the GrapheneOS phone be?
I was talking with a friend today about all the smartphones we have had over the years and features we miss and how phones have changed. I started very soon with the Communicator, P800, MDA Compact, HTC Magic, S2, Galaxy Nexus and many more..
And I was talking about, how today I pretty much have no more options, since I would only buy devices that support GrapheneOS.
Which brings me to the wishes I have for the coming GrapheneOS phone.
My number one request and most missed feature from older devices by far is the notification LED! I despise the always on display and workarounds which massively increase battery usage. I just want a subtle notification led, so I know if someone messaged or called me, nothing else, no notification overflow. Maybe the OLED screen could have a dedicated HW feature for notifications instead of a RGB LED.
Followed by a good fingerprint reader, my Pixel 9 sensor is absolutely awful, it feels even worse than the Pixel 7a sensor. The back sensor of the 4a, 3a was worlds better. If it isn't perfect, don't bother with a screen fingerprint reader in my opinion.
I know this will be super controversial, but I am absolutely awful at typing on the on-screen keyboard nowadays, a dedicated flip out keyboard like a lot of older devices like the G1 had would be awesome.
Headphone Jack would be nice, but I honestly can live without it.
What other things would be on your wishlist?
