Atopic Dermatitis (Eczema in babies) - ayurvedic suggestions?
My son was diagnosed with atopic dermatities as young as 3 months, it is considered moderate to borderline severe and he has it on his face, scalp, neck folds, trunk, hands and legs esp the folds. It's mostly very itchy and inflammed- with some red bumps. Allopathy says its genetic.
We have tried many creams available in the market (I live in Boston, USA). The only thing that is effective for his itch is the steroid creams for his itch. But we try to limit it as much. It's been a tough journey for everyone including my child and I'm looking for alternative/healing practices.
Under an ayurvedic doctor's guidance, I started giving him Niroil syrup 2.5ml twice a day (for a week). I am optimistic it will help.
Anyone been through something similar for their child?
Also he starts solids soon (6 months). What foods can I offer that is in general hydrating/good for the skin and internally?
