Overly aggressive dog during meet

I had a dog meet today for 2 dogs that would potentially stay at my home for about a week. I’ll say that I honestly accept about 95% of dogs that I do meets with and haven’t came across any major issues. These dogs were the worst i’ve experienced by far.

One of the dogs was so overly aggressive that it almost bit me, my mom, and my senior dog multiple times within the span of 10 minutes. It was a small dog so it wasn’t a huge deal but anytime something got anywhere within a foot from it, it would get overly aggressive and try to bite. I asked the owner, is there any possible way to approach the dog? He basically said no, and that if I try to get near him, he will try to take my hand. My senior dog wasn’t even the one who came up to this dog. The dog slowly walked up to him and then quickly turned to snap at his face. My dog was so terrified, his back legs slid out! The second dog wasn’t aggressive, but anytime I would take a step towards her, she would run the other way.

Obviously I cannot accept these two dogs, as it is a danger for my family and the other dogs in my home. My question is, how do these owners expect anyone to take their dogs? I don’t see how it would even be possible to care for a dog who will try to bite anytime it gets near you?

They mentioned that they have never been boarded before and they believe their dogs may act differently overtime if they aren’t there with them. I just can’t take that risk given how overly aggressive the one dog is. They also mentioned nothing of this in our conversation before the meet.

The strangest part to me though of this whole meet was the owner laughed every time his dog lunged and almost bit someone in my house. He brushed it off as if it was no big deal, and was still expecting me to book his dogs.
