Hi there,

I just moved and now need to choose a security camera. But it seems there are two main camps on the market: cameras with local storage and smart cameras.

Cameras with local storage offer the best privacy protection and don’t require a subscription, but the downside is that if the base unit is damaged, I won’t be able to view the recordings.

Smart cameras have AI features that can help me recognize different situations, but I’m worried about my privacy being compromised, and the monthly fees are also a bit of a hassle.

I’d like to know how others make their choices and what considerations go into each decision. Thanks!
