1985 Bass tracker V-16 refit
Hey all, I just picked up an old bass tracker v-16 that used to be in our family a long while back and plan to spice her up a bit.
A few years back it had the transom rebuilt, all new marine grade plywood wrapped in vinyl, and all new wiring. It currently has a 25hp mercury two stroke that I plan to replace with something bigger down the line.
I just stripped all the paint off the exterior and plan on painting the top half olive drab this weekend, then the bottom black (once I figure out what to do with these old epoxy patches). and then the trailer black. I want to take out the "rod locker" that's on the left since it's practically useless since its not long enough to fit any of my rods,
My questions are
**1. Can I remove the rod locker on the left or is it a structural necessity? I eventually want to take out the first storage box on the right, move it to the left side, and install a side mounted console on the right.**
**2. Any advice on what I should do with these old patches and sealed seams? If they should be redone or the best way to go about these since I want to eventually paint the bottom**
Any and all advice is greatly appreciated!
Thanks
