CUET didn’t go well, humanities student here — what colleges should I apply to now that are good but not too expensive?

Hi everyone,

I’ve been really stressed lately because my CUET did not go as well as I had hoped. I don’t think I’ll be able to get into the top colleges people usually aim for, and honestly I’ve been feeling very lost about what to do next.

I’m a humanities student, and now I’m trying to figure out which colleges I should realistically apply to that are still considered good academically, have decent exposure/opportunities, but are not extremely expensive. My family cannot afford very high private college fees, so affordability matters a lot for me.

I’m open to suggestions from different states as well, as long as:

  • the college has a decent reputation,
  • humanities/social sciences programs are good,
  • fees are manageable,
  • and placements or future opportunities are not completely terrible.

I would also really appreciate advice from people who were in a similar situation after CUET and still managed to find good colleges or alternative paths. Right now it feels like everyone around me only talks about top DU colleges, and if you miss those, it’s over — but I know there must be other options too.

Please suggest:

  • colleges I should look into,
  • backup options,
  • universities with lower cutoffs,
  • or even entrance exams/forms that are still open.

Thank you honestly to anyone who replies. I’m trying not to panic and make bad decisions out of stress.
